Bio
Dan has worked with wireless mobile technology and applications since deploying the first nationwide cellular network in Chile in 1990 and is based in Silicon Valley. Currently the Dir. of Product Design & Development at Zebra, Dan will be focused on evolving Zebra’s location software solutions and driving agile product development for sports solutions. Prior to Zebra, Dan was Sr. Director of Product for Gimbal and part of Apple Corp Retail’s Mobile Commerce product team responsible for launching both iBeacon in US Apple Retail stores and EasyPay, an in-store, self-service payment experience of the Apple Store app in 13 countries and 16 languages. Dan was also Dir. of BD for Siri and introduced Siri to Apple, Sr. BD Mgr. for Motorola’s Early Stage Accelerator and held positions as Software Bus. Mgr., Strategic Business Analyst, Product Manager and Engineering Manager at Motorola. Dan led the technical development of Motorola’s joint venture wireless start-up, CelTel, in Honduras, Central America where Dan’s network served as Honduras’ only form of communication during and immediately following Hurricane Mitch in 1998. Dan is a graduate of the Kellogg Graduate School of Business and has a BSEE from IowaState University.

Tracking NFL players via UWB wearables09:35 AM - 09:55 AM Jun 1In the 2015-16 NFL season, all players were tracked every game, multiple times a second. This was accomplished with each player wearing two ultra-wideband tags tracked by 20 receivers at each NFL venue. This talk will describe the technical details of that solution.
