Equal parts inventor and entrepreneur, Karl Martin likes to build things that have an impact. He's co-founder and CTO of Nymi, makers of the wearable biometric authenticator, the Nymi Band. The Nymi Band introduces a new concept of persistent authentication, offering a more convenient and secure replacement for passwords, PINs, key cards, and stand-alone biometric solutions. It also incorporates unique technology that authenticates identity using the wearer’s electrocardiogram. Karl has a PhD from the University of Toronto in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with expertise in signal processing, biometrics, and cryptography.
